The Painting Workshop
Welcome to The Painting Workshop!
We have been offering fun, lively, quality art classes and workshops since 1995.
We believe, as Picasso says, that "everyone is an artist". Young or old, the art of creating is a joyous, exciting process, and we try to provide the room, space, and materials for that to happen. We encourage students to try new things, to be inspired by other artists, to find their voice.
We currently have three locations:
- Mt. Washington: The majority of our classes and workshops are in the charming village of Mt. Washington, which includes two studio spaces, the studio and the yurt. What's a YURT? It is a circular, lattice-framed dwelling, traditionally used by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia. Our yurt is an extra studio for us, fully heated and cooled, perfect for art classes and yoga classes! Watch this 90-second video about it!
- Fells Point: We also have space in Fells Point. Our space is in a beautifully renovated school, The New Century School, with old wood floors and huge windows, one block north of the harbor. This summer, we are holding two weeks of art camp in August!
- Reisterstown: The Reisterstown studio is located in the back of a renovated blue barn on historic Main Street. A beautiful space, a very large parking lot, and central air, make this location easy and fun! We offer classes, summer camp, art camp days, and birthday parties in Reisterstown.
Summer camp meets every week in June, July, and August. Sign up by the week!
